The Auxiliary 16 is our version of a music studio side cart. It offers 10 units of rack space on its top side, and a front space that can be used to store audio and hi-fi units - or to add an additional 6U of rack storage. This makes it ideal for rack mounted synthesizers, eurorack systems and hardware effects that you want accessible next to your desk.

Despite its minimal appearance the Auxiliary 16 offers plenty of room and versatility as it has been designed as an open structure with many options. It fits perfectly tucked in under the Compact desk, and its classic design and high quality wooden finish keeps the look sophisticated and cohesive.

Product Description

RACK

It can store 10 units of 19" rack equipment on top, plus an extra 6 units of rack - or Hi-Fi separates - on the front. This makes the Auxiliary 16 is a highly functional storage unit for your studio and lets you mix hardware effects with amplifiers and receivers, sound cards and audio interfaces, as well as patch bays, desktop synthesizers and modular/eurorack systems - all in one small piece of furniture.

BEAMS

It comes with 6 internal beams which can be mounted to accommodate your needs depending on the setup. Three of those beams can be used in the lower part of the furniture as a shelf which can hold amplifier / receiver or any combination of Hi-Fi separates.

The three other internal beams can be mounted in the upper part of the furniture and be used to organize cables or to mount power supplies. They are especially useful if you use desktop synthesisers or Eurorack / Modular systems powered by external PSU (see detailed descriptions below).

CABLE MANAGEMENT

Cable management slots are integrated at the back and together with the included set of cable ties it is easy to keep all the multi-plugs and connections tidy.

An optional cable and headphone holder can be mounted on the sides of the Auxiliary 16, making patching easier and letting you organise all your Bantam, 1/4th and 1/8th patch jack cables.

SELF ASSEMBLY

The Auxiliary 16 has been designed to be shipped flat packed for a simple self assembly and to endure being mounted and unmounted multiple times. All you need is your own flat and cross head screwdrivers and a mallet hammer.

When you place an order we put you on our monthly order list and contact you via email with an estimated delivery date.

We are a small family business making, packing and sending each order individually from Barcelona, Spain and we ship once per month, so calculate 4-8 weeks of delivery time.

Once we ship your furniture we send you an email with the tracking number. The delivery takes about 3-7 days within Europe, and 1-2 weeks for shipments outside of Europe. We work directly with UPS and FedEx and all shipments include full insurance.

Cancelation Policy

You have the right to cancel your order free of charge up until we have shipped your package. To cancel your order please contact us via email and your payment will be refunded in full. Once we have shipped your furniture we do not accept returns.

Workflow

Measuring 55 cm high, the Auxiliary 16 is perfect for hardware interfaces or desktop / rack instruments which feel easier to use horizontally. Placed next to your desk it gives you good overview and an easier, less tiring access to knobs and sliders. Whereas you use analog compressors, mastering EQs, desktop synthesisers or modular systems.

Cable management

Our integrated solution for cable management consists of multiple slots cut out along the rear side of the Auxiliary 16. Together with our custom velcro straps you can easily bundle, organise and tie up your multi-plugs and cables just the way you want.

Cable and Headphone holder

The Auxiliary 16 has many tricks up its sleeve and potential for expandability. The first accessory introduced with it is a Cable and Headphone holder. It can be mounted on each side for an easy access and organisation of all your Bantam, 1/4th and 1/8th patch cables.

5U tablet stand

Perfect for combining and mixing your favourite rack-mount sound processors with your desktop synthesizers or drum machines, the new optional tablet stand measures 52 cm wide by 24 cm deep, is reversible, features a cable hole and can be mounted in many different ways thanks to 4 M6 flat head rack screw.

Assembly

The Auxiliary 16 is designed to be shipped flat in a small package for an easy self assembly. The durable hardware can be mounted multiple times as no structural screws go straight into the wood. All you need to assemble it is your own screwdrivers and a mallet hammer.

Material

Due to its quality and high resistance to impact and humidity we have chosen to work with Baltic Birch Plywood, embracing its characteristic striped edges. Each unit is made individually in Barcelona Spain, combining modern CNC technology with traditional carpentry. The pieces are sanded by hand and then coated with a semi-matte varnish to give it a silky smooth finish that is easy to keep clean and that shows the beautiful grain of the wood.

Configuration Options: How to use your Auxiliary 16

  • 9U eurorack system + 1U soundcard:

    A lightweight combination built around a modular system. 2 or 3 beams can be mounted on the upper part of the furniture to host the external PSU. The 1U soundcard is mounted at the rear of the furniture to leave the front space open. The rear cable beam will be used to organise its connections and power cables. In the lower part of the furniture one beam is enough to bring the required stability and steadiness.

  • 6U eurorack system + 4 units of rack:

    A 6U modular system mixed with 4 units of 19" rack (think for instance 1U audio interface + 1U patchbay + 2U audio processor). One beam is mounted in its upper part for the external power supply used by eurorack system. The 19" rack units are mounted at the rear of the furniture to leave its front space open. On the lower part of the furniture - 1 to 2 beams can be mounted to bring stability depending on the weight of the configuration.

  • 6U eurorack system + 4 units of rack + amplifier / receiver:

    A 6U modular system mixed with 4 units of 19" rack and a Hi-Fi unit stored in the lower part of the furniture. The 19" rack units are mounted at the rear of the furniture to leave its front space open. On the lower part of the furniture - 2 to 3 beams are mounted to be used as support shelf for the Hi-Fi unit and to bring stability to the furniture.

  • 3U eurorack system + 5 1U rack units + 1 2U rack unit + amplifier / receiver:

    A 3U modular system mixed with five 1U rack units (audio interface, patchbay hardware effect) and a single 2U rack units. The deeper rack units are set at the rear of the furniture to leave the front space open. On the lower part of the furniture - 2 beams are mounted to be used as support shelf for the Hi-Fi unit and to bring stability to the furniture.

  • 9U eurorack system + one 1U rack unit + three 2U rack units:

    The top side of the furniture is allocated to the modular system and a single rack unit. Up to 3 beams can be mounted in the upper part to tie and set external PSU - while the font side is used to store 6U of rack units mounted on rack strips. On the lower part of the furnitures, 3 beams are mounted to add extra stability to this heavier configuration.

  • 5 units of 2U racks :

    A full 19" rack setup mixing various deep rack units all mounted in the top part of the furniture. In the lower part of the furniture 2 to 3 beams can be mounted to add stability but also organise the rack units audio and power cables in conjunction with the rear cable beam.
